Films selected for ForadCamp 2018

We already know the list of the 15 short films selected for the Official Section of ForadCamp 2018. There will be three Spanish films and shorts from Belgium, Canada, Colombia, Croatia, the United States, France, Latvia, Switzerland, and also two co-productions, Argentina-United Kingdom and United States-Spain.

The screening of the selected short films will be held in the village of Figaró-Montmany on October 20 and 21, 2018. The full program of the Exhibition will be available by the end of September on our website.

Submissions open

Logo FDC general Film submissions for ForadCamp 2018 – 7th Nature and Cinema Exhibition are now open.

Films must be non fiction, under 30 minutes, and nature should have a prominent place within the short film.

The screening of works selected will take place in Figaró-Montmany town, October 20-21, 2018.

The deadline for submissions is June 17, 2018. Films may be submitted through the internet platform Festhome.com or filling the submission form in our website.

ForadCamp 2017 award winners

Sunday night we knew the award winners of ForadCamp 2017, 6th Nature and Cinema Exhibition.

Nature: all rights reserved, de Sebas Mulder

«Nature: all rights reserved», by Sebas Mulder, Foradcamp 2017 Best Documentary Jury Award.

      • The Jury, composed of Eulàlia Iglesias, Jorge Caballero and Arturo Redín, awarded the Best Documentary Jury Award, endowed with € 300, to the short «Nature: all rights reserved» by Sebastian Mulder. The Jury awarded the film «For offering the audience an space to re-examine the relationship we humans have with nature, in a postmodern society, from a self reflective and ironic consciousness
      • Besides, the Jury gave a Special Mention to «Ur Artean», by Íñigo Jiménez and Jesús María Palacios. The Jury valued the film’s desire to «reconstruct the history of fascinating and mysterious figures, through a story about the loneliness of the human being in the midst of nature.«
      • The Audience Award went to Sebastian Mulder’s «Nature: all rights reserved
      • The Festhome Distribution Prize, consisting of bonus for the international distribution of the short, was for «E.B.C. 5,300 m«, by Léonard Kohli. INDOC, the association which gave the award, has valued the short film’s ability to «portray life in a critical and beautiful way at Everest Base Camp, showing with subtlety and proximity the tourist massification of adventure.«
      • Granollers Cultural Association Mention has been for «My cat in me«, by Katinka Baehr and Stefanie Visjager. The Jury highlighted «the good experimental work, the aesthetic originality and the density of the script«.

Sunday night we knew the award winners of ForadCamp 2016, 5th Nature and Cinema Exhibition.

Trophy of the Jury’s Best Documentary 2016

  • The Jury, composed by Elisabet Prandi, Carme Mayugo and Jordi Morató, gave the Best Documentary Award, endowed with 300 €, to the short «Nobody dies here«, by Simon Panay.
  • Also, the Jury decided to give a Mention to «Fóra do continente» by Nico Martínez Millán.
  • Granollers Cultural Association Award, consisting on the screening of the selected short at Dimarts Singulars Exhibition held at the Granollers Film Club went to «Miejsce», by Julia Popławska.
  • Audience Award: «Som pastor,» by Borja Zausen.
  • Distribution Prize, sponsored by Clickforfestivals, consisting on bonus for the distribution of the selected short in international festivals went to «165/60«, by Anton Brutski.

Awards and Jury of ForadCamp 2016

The 5th Nature and Cinema Exhibition, ForadCamp 2016, will be held in the New Casino Figaró of Figaró–Montmany village, on October 8 and 9, 2016.

The short films in the Official Section of ForadCamp 2016 will compete for the Jury Award, Audience Award and Distribution Prize.

Lisa Birke, Jury Award of ForadCamp 2015 for «Calendar girls».

  • The Best Documentary Award will be endowed with €300 and will be chosen by a Jury of film professionals.
  • The Audience Award will be decided according to the results of the audience vote held in the theater the day of the screening.
  • The Distribution Prize, sponsored by Clickforfestivals, will consist of bonus for the distribution of the selected short in international festivals.
  • The Granollers Cultural Association Award will consist on the screening of the selected short in the Dimarts Singulars Exhibition held at the Granollers Film Club.

The Jury of this year will be formed by:

Elisabet Prandi. She’s director and director of photography. She studied cinematography at the FEMIS (École Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l’Image et du Son), and also graduated from the IEFC (Institute of Photographic Studies of Catalonia). She directed several documentaries and visual works which were broadcasted in televisions, festivals and various museums around the world. As director of photography, she has worked for different directors like Marta Balletbó-Coll and Pere Portabella.

Carme Mayugo. She’s edu-comunicator and exjournalist. From Teleduca, she designs and coordinates participatory audiovisual creation processes based on community revitalization. Since 2000, she has worked as a producer and self-production documentary consultant. She has tutored more than 50 projects, many of them being documentary teacher at the Escola de la Dona of the Barcelona Provincial Council. She’s a PhD in Communication and Media Education Community by the USC (University of Santiago de Compostela), where she’s part of Cidacom research group and REAL-CODE network.

Jordi Morató. He is a director, screenwriter and editor. Graduated in Audiovisual Communication from the UPF (Pompeu Fabra University), he has a Master in Creative Documentary IDEC-UPF andhe’s a Technician in Audiovisual Production and Performances by EMAV (School of Audiovisual Media Barcelona). His latest film, Sobre la marxa (2014), has been selected in over 50 international festivals and was awarded 13 prizes. His first work, «Camí de terra» (2012), won the Jury Award at Foradcamp 2012.

There will be three Spanish films, two of which Catalan, and also shorts from Belarus, France, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, and a coproduction from Netherlands-New Zealand.

Submissions closed

On June 30 it closed the deadline for short film’ submissions for ForadCamp 2016.

The Exhibition received films from 32 countries. We thank all the directors who submitted their works, a 30% more than the past year.

As of July 29 we will know the films selected for the Official Selection of ForadCamp 2016.

The screening of the selected short films will be held in FigaróMontmany, October 1-2, 2016.
