Macedonia – 2019 – (85 min)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Nestled in an isolated mountain region deep within the Balkans, Hatidze Muratova lives with her ailing mother in a village without roads, electricity or running water. She\u2019s the last in a long line of Macedonian wild beekeepers, eking out a living farming honey in small batches to be sold in the closest city \u2013 a mere four hours\u2019 walk away.<\/p>\n

Hatidze\u2019s peaceful existence is thrown into upheaval by the arrival of an itinerant family, with their roaring engines, seven rambunctious children and herd of cattle.<\/p>\n

The arrival of the family provides companionship and relief from Hatidze’s loneliness, but also disruption to the natural order of the area and a threat to their means of survival. A haunting portrait that talks about of a dying way of life, and that shows the fragile balance between humanity and nature through the gaze of a resilient and extraordinary woman.<\/p>\n
